An
Open Letter ...... Our Tee Time Philosophy:
As
you can appreciate, tee times and their application and integrity
are at the heart of any golf operation. Our obligation in
guaranteeing you a tee time is to assure that we stay on
time and allow you to tee off at the time you have reserved.
Many courses "squeeze" groups in or allow groups
to show up late. By doing so, it is impossible to stay on
schedule and as a result subsequent players are inconvenienced
with the delay. We do not think this is the definition of "guaranteed
tee times" and will not participate in these practices.
We will make every effort to insure your reserved tee time
really means something (not withstanding weather or other
unforeseen interruptions).
The
player also has an obligation to the tee time system. No
shows or showing up with fewer players than the reservation
is made for is a real problem for any golf course operator.
On a daily basis, we refuse tee time requests from other
players because we are booked. When a group does not show
or shows up short of players, two things happen. We are left
holding the empty space (and the lost revenue) and other
golfers hoping to play that day have been turned away. Both
of these results are just plain not fair and are inconsiderate
of other golfers or the management of our clubs.
At
a time when golf course operating costs are growing like
any other business, we have made the commitment to continue
to provide the highest quality, most affordable golf in the
Delaware Valley. To do so, we must assure that our tee time
system has the necessary integrity from the player and management.
We
look forward to having you at White Oaks sometime
soon.
Sincerely,
Bob Hennefer, PGA Head Golf Professional
